Valtris Names New Commercial Officer

Valtris Specialty Chemicals appoints Jirak as Chief Commercial Officer

Valtris Specialty Chemicals has hired Jeff Jirak as Chief Commercial Officer. In this role, Jeff will have responsibility for worldwide commercial activities and P&L.

“I’m confident that Jeff’s energy, experience, and proven ability to generate profitable growth will complement our already strong commercial team and advance our ability to deliver sales and margin improvements” said Valtris CEO, Paul Angus.

Jeff comes to Valtris from Nouryon (previously AkzoNobel Specialty Chemicals), a global specialty chemical producer, where he served as Vice President, General Manager of the Surface Chemistry business for the Americas. Jeff led the transformation of the business to position it for growth under the new private equity ownership of the Carlyle Group. The portfolio consisted of amine based surfactants and acrylic polymer chemistries that provided advanced surface modification technologies to a wide cross section of market segments including Lubricants and Fuel Additives, Agricultural Chemicals, Cleaning, Oil & Gas, Paints & Coatings, and Personal Care.

Prior to AkzoNobel/Nouryon, Jeff was Vice President General Manager of the Fluoropolymers Diversified Technologies business unit at the Chemours Company, a spin off from DuPont. Jeff previously worked for DuPont for 23 years where he held various roles in business management, sales, marketing, business development, supply chain and operations across several polymers and chemicals based businesses. Jeff holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Michigan State University and a MBA from Drexel University.
