Brightening Agents & UV Blockers Description
Fluorescent whitening agents absorb UV radiation and re-emit visible blue light, thus compensating the yellowish appearance of natural fibers.
UV blockers prevent photo-degradation of polymers and prevent ultraviolet light from damaging scents and colors in products such as perfumes and soaps. Their use allows manufacturers to package products in clear glass or plastic, otherwise opaque or dark packaging would be required.
