Tinstab® BL-277 is dibutyltin dilaurate, it is a liquid organotin stabilizer and catalyst. In PVC, it is usually used as a lubricating stabilizer in combination with other organotin mercaptides in clear rigid sheet or profile extrusion. It is also used as the sole stabilizer in copolymer calendaring applications.
Tinstab® BL-277 is also used as a catalyst to crosslink silane-grafted polyethylene, which is used in wire and cable insulation market.
Tinstab® BL-277 can be used as a catalyst in polyurethane synthesis. It provides better hydrolytic stability in premix containing polyol than stannous catalysts, giving the premix a longer storage of life. In molded flexible urethane foams, Tinstab® BL-300 promotes faster gassing while delaying gelation of the foam, allowing complete filling of the mold, before foam begins to set up.
