Synpro® Calcium Stearate 114-36

Product information

Product Name
Synpro® Calcium Stearate 114-36
Description

Synpro® CALCIUM STEARATE 114-36 is a very low ash fine powder product specifically designed for use in polyolefins and surface critical applications. It acts as an acid scavenger to neutralize residual catalyst and provides lubrication in production / downstream processing.

Preferred for polyolefins due to its very high purity which increases polymer miscibility while minimizing gel formation and plate out / build up on the extruder screen-packs during processing. Additionally used in rigid PVC siding, decking, profiles extrusions, phenolics, or any application demanding a superior quality clear melting calcium stearate.

Filtration index testing can be used to evaluate calcium stearate products for fitness of use by measuring the extruder back pressure as material is extruded through a fine mesh screen pack. A rise in pressure signals screen pack plugging and the presence of immiscible material that can cause gels or surface imperfections in the polymer.
