Lankrostat products exhibit antistatic properties as well as acting as viscosity modifiers in PVC plastisols. These antistatic agents after compounding into the polymer migrate to the surface and by absorbing moisture from the air provide a conductive path to reduce accumulation of surface charge. Besides PVC Lankrostat antistatic agents are used in polyethylene, polypropylene, polystyrene and polyurethane. When used as viscosity modifiers in PVC plastisols, Lankrostat and Lankroplast products allow use of higher filler levels or high viscosity resins with none of the disadvantages associated with flammable or volatile solvents. Some Lankrostat products become hazy liquids or freeze below 15°C but become clear on warming. Lankrostat 60 gives a reduction in heat stability has low volatility and is very effective in reducing PVC plastisol viscosity as well as being an effective antistat.
