Lankroflex E2447 is a medical grade epoxidised linseed oil. It is a powerful thermal co-stabiliser, recommended for the most critical applications. The production process involves extra purification stages to achieve a low final acid value and organic impurity content combined with excellent product colour. It confers excellent resistance to extraction by water, oils and solvents and has a much higher viscosity than other types of epoxy.
Lankroflex E2447 will provide excellent thermal stability characteristics when used at 3 – 10phr in combination with a primary stabiliser such as a calcium/zinc stearate based, solid or paste stabiliser. Lankroflex E2447 has been specifically developed to give improved performance over the standard Lankroflex L grade in terms of migration of impurities into liquid media being stored in the finished PVC article. Therefore it is specifically recommended for use as an additive for Technical Data Sheet Page 2 of 2 16.06.2016 plasticized PVC containers for aqueous solutions for intravenous infusion and blood components, as listed in the European Pharmacopoeia.
